We at Casuarina Beach Club sincerely appreciate the support we have received over the many years we have been here. We have been fortunate enough to pursue our environmental commitments in tourism and have built strong relationships with individuals, guests and businesses alike. We thank our staff, Tour Operators and Travel Agents who have all helped to bring us to this point in time. We thank also our colleagues at the BHTA, The BTA, the CHA, CTO, CAST, TDC, The Barbados Workers Union, Chamber of Commerce, The Private Sector Tradeteam, The Ministries of Tourism, Environment, Education and Health, all of our guests, visitors, suppliers, artists, craftspersons, artistes, and all those people who have supported us throughout the year.
In recognition of our efforts during 2004 we won several prestigious awards:
The National Geographic Traveler & Conservation International 2004 World Legacy Award. This is the first time this award was given in the Hotels category.
The 2004 Responsible Tourism Award in the category of Best Hotel. Casuarina was selected for its employment of disabled people, initiatives to benefit the poor, and outstanding environmental performance. This is another first time worldwide award.
We are the first hotel in Barbados to be inducted into the BHTA Hall of Fame.
Virgin Holidays 2004 Responsible Tourism Gold Award presented at World Travel Market London, England.
As a very big thank you to everyone in Barbados and to celebrate our continuing success, we have put together a "Thanks Barbados!" package. This is our way of letting you know how very much we appreciate your continued support and encouragement as we continue to explore ways of contributing to environmental good health. To this end and to mark the completion of your stay with us, we not only promise you a fun vacation, but also an educational one, and we'll even give you a gift which will become your contribution to the environment.
